Blogging is a great way to get your name, your company’s name and your message out to as many people as possible with one task. There are other forms of social media you can use to supplement your blog, and if you tie all of these activities together, with links back to your website, then you will have success…
I just read a great article in the New York Times about Michael Hyatt, a very successful blog operator. I love what he has to say. My partner and I tell people all the time about how effective a consistent and relevant blog can be to their web presence, and we have proved it over and over for ourselves. In this blog post from the NY Times the author is talking about how to become and stay successful:
“While people have been saying, “content is king” for years, the new buzz is that “platform is queen.” The conversation is now focusing on your marketing platform. Creating a platform is about building a social media presence, a stage for yourself to be seen above the crowd. Content is the message, but a platform provides visibility, amplification and engagement.
Social media can be great tools to drive traffic, but it is the blog that will do the most to build a platform. While there is much debate about the return on investment for time spent in social media, the results of blogging are easier to evaluate: unique visitors, comments, interactions, time on site and other social media metrics can help businesses learn about customer interests ..”
We at social-cindy.com have seen time and time again that a consistent presence, no matter the frequency, will make a difference on how powerful your web presence will be. The most powerful tool is still the blog, and the more you post, on message, with useful information, the stronger you will become.
So, post regularly, Facebook post regularly, if you are selling a product, offer deals and samples, and ask for feedback. If you don’t want to do all that, or don’t have time, no sweat, I will do it for you…
over and out…
